A pale straw hue. The nose is very subtle at first, taking time to unwind but it does, hinting at pecan nuts, vanilla pod, white peach and toasted almond. The palate is beautifully balanced, lovely poise with ripe passion fruit, and orange zest, fanning to a peacock’s tail of crushed stones, especially flint. This is an electrifying Puligny from Lalou Bize-Leroy. Just 1,211 bottles produced. Drink now-2020+
