The wood treatment, while certainly evident, is better integrated on the poached plum, spice and violet-suffused nose. There is reasonably good vibrancy to the delicious, supple and pliant medium weight flavors that terminate in a dusty and sappy mocha and bitter cherry pit-infused finish. There is a touch of edginess present though it may well dissipate with a few years of age.
