An exuberantly floral-suffused nose, especially violet, speaks of exotic tea, sandalwood and a mix of liqueur-like red and dark currant. The medium weight flavors are not as dense as those of the Corton but they're finer and offer a really lovely mouthfeel before firming up on the gorgeously long, balanced and sappy finish where a hint of bitter chocolate slowly emerges. This youthfully austere effort is impressive as well as being one of the better examples I've seen from the Domaine in recent vintages. In sum, extremely promising and while it's certainly built to repay extended keeping, my sense is that it will be approachable in the 10ish year or so range.
