The ripe yet cool nose reflects prominent mineral reduction on the aromas of essence of white orchard fruit, shellfish and iodine which is also trimmed in the barest hint of wood. As is usually the case, this is the biggest wine among the 1ers with its powerful and concentrated medium weight plus flavors that possess a gorgeous, if not necessarily sophisticated, texture on the palate staining and hugely long finale. This is a 'buy and forget you own it' wine that should amply repay 12 to 15 years of keeping - besides it needs to develop better depth so it might as well slumber undisturbed for a while!
