This didn't go down well until after about 4 hours. Very dry and ungiving almost woody on opening. As is opens up another wine reveals itself, with good density and concentration despite the weak vintage. Very appealing cherry and other dark fruit. Rather powerful but yet with elegance and never heavy. Lovely finish. No rush to drink, the tannin backbone is there as is the fruit.
