One of the best aspects of a wine of this style and age is the start. The scent is soft and fruit fragrant. Great to not face the force of too much alcohol or tannins. All nicely balanced with soft tannins. Oak seems to balance the wine, making the fruit full and present, but not overpowering. Generally, a great example of a clean, balanced pinot that does not overpower; soft, and unsweet fruit in an elegant style and weight. A hint of spices (sort of a subtle cinnamon) on the finish. A wine that is showing why age matters. Still no rush to drink. I sense the wine will have several more years to go.
