This is slightly but definitely fresher and brighter with a more discreet oak influence that complements the round but detailed and solidly if not brilliantly precise flavors that display lovely balance though not the sheer power and richness of the bigger wines in this range. In particular, the finish benefits from the pungent minerality as it adds both lift and firmness. In short, this is a fine if not genuinely great example of what is vintage in and vintage out usually a terrific wine.
