Dark fruited nose, black and blue. A bit of oak on the nose and palate. Rich blueberries and dark cherries. Classic Colgin fine grained tannins. Packs a punch at 15% ABV but Carries it well. Medium plus finish and excellent minerality. Meant to be consumed young…this still needs some time. Got word from the winery that they are no longer selling the wine to consumers…so the 18 may be the it (to go with the 2016). I agree that wine is kind of a cross between the IX and Cariad….lacks the power and focus of the former and the finesse of the latter.
