Pulled the cork, glass decanted and really enjoyed over 4 hours. Dark, opaque purple hue with a violet halo. Some fine, dark sediment in the bottle. Big, intoxicating, Rhone style nose of crushed blackberries, olive juice, plums, ripe red cherries and road tar. It clearly had that distinct SQN smell. Multidimensional and complex midpalate with flavors of dark berries, plum, dark currants and fresh ground pepper. Great mouth feel, perfectly structured and well balanced (15.5% ALC). This wine demonstrates both power and grace. Excellent finish that lingers and lingers with air time. I'm a big fan of SQN wines and so far this is the best one I have had. Although I gave it a perfect rating, this wine will continue to evolve and improve with cellar time. Totally addictive!
