A dazzlingly complex nose is comprised by notes of mature red berry and blue fruit that are nuanced with an array of subtle hints of game, spice, earth and underbrush. There is still excellent intensity to the rich and beautifully detailed broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in a linear and driving finish that offers impressive punch and outstanding complexity. There is a sleek muscularity here and a real sense of underlying tension on the explosive finish and for my taste, this has arrived at its peak where it should have no trouble holding for several more decades.
