This is also attractively perfumed with a similar, if slightly cooler, liqueur-like quality to the spicier dark berry fruit nose that is nuanced by hints of wet stone and exotic tea. There is a bit more volume, and certainly more minerality, to the solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess a refreshing sense of verve that carries over to the youthfully austere, firm and built-to-age finale where the only nit is a touch of warmth. The Roumier Cras virtually always ages well and the 2023 version should be no exception but in contrast to the Clos de la Bussières and Les Combottes, it's a wine that's going to require at least mid-term keeping first.
