Once again strong reduction pushes the underlying fruit to the background. As is usually the case this is bigger, richer and more powerful than the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet with its softly oaky broad-shouldered flavors that also coat the palate with dry extract while simultaneously buffering the firm acidity on the clean and markedly dry but not overtly austere finale. This well-balanced effort should reward 7 to 10 years of cellaring.
