This is both more elegant and cooler than the Boudots with its restrained nose that is composed of assorted red berries, violets and discreet hints of wood spice. The palate is more refined than usual as the medium-bodied flavors glide across the palate though the dusty finish is quite tight and youthfully austere. This is a Clos de Vougeot of refinement but it can't match the underlying material or the complexity of the Boudots.
