Medium-deep reddish garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Forward, attractive & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of cedar, tobacco & leather, earthy/dusty, some floral notes, dried herbs, cocoa, minty, anise, spices, minerals & a hint of toasty oak. Medium-full bodied with good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, elegant, complex, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blueberries & plums with herbs, spices, minerals, earthy & a touch of toasty oak. Lingering silky finish. Drinks quite well at present and appears to be close to its peak of development but should hold for a few more years although I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging.
