Lovely full-bodied style with rich lemony fruit and lovely brioche and yeast flavors. Very good intensity and quite open knit and giving with some oxidized notes. This is deep and satisfying and a bit on the sweeter side of dry champagne with good complexity on the finish. Mature and ready and simply lacking the crisp focus and acids of the '96 which will obviously last a good deal longer than this.
