I was a little hesitant with this one as the reviews were hit or miss. She did not disappoint! This wine was of a soft brick coloring and had a smell of the old leather with dried roses smoke. On first sip the wine was weak and watery. After about 90 minutes in the decanter she had opened up a wonderful flavor of smooth fruit and old leather and oak with rose. The fruit, which continued to grow and impress, was aged and elegant rounding out to light/ medium body. At the end was a welcome softly dissipating medium finish. We enjoyed this wine with roasted duck seasoned with butter, ghee, salt, pepper, and paprika. As well as fresh cut chives on mash potatoes.
