In fabulous condition, cellared undisturbed since purchase on release. Pale garnet bright and full of energy. Short decant and enjoyed over 2 hours alongside 1970 Cheval, 2002 Ausone and 1966 Ausone. The 79 was a huge surprise perhaps because the bottle was in such excellent condition. Nose full of energy and elegance, palate graceful fine and elegant, tannins melted away, good energy freshness and detail. After an hour the1970 woke up and its density and extra ripeness filled in and overtook the 79, but initially the 79 was captivating. By the last sip the structure was getting a bit pokey but overall a great treat.
