This has always been on the restrained side and so it remains that way though aggressive swirling eventually coaxes notes of secondary fruit, spice, earth and a hint of dried floral scents. There is excellent concentration to the relatively big, full, intense and chiseled, indeed even muscular flavors that are underpinned by still somewhat firm tannins and excellent finishing length. For my taste this has arrived at its peak though it should hold here for years to come. Consistent notes save for one bottle that seemed unduly advanced.
