Opening this for a special occasion with great anticipation. Stood it up for a few days before serving. Top shoulder fill, cork looked terrific, and came out neatly with an ah-so. Decanted for a short period, temperature was about 65 at serving, so we didn't wait long. Color was impressive for its age, with a nice oxblood color at the rim. Ever so faint smoke and leather on the nose. Elegant and polished on the palate, a grand wine to say the least. Shortish finish, mostly due to the age. Easily complemented the entirety of the dinner menu, which ran the gamut from lobster veloute to sticky toffee pudding.
