Vinified uniquely this year in equal parts wood—an old 14-hectoliter foudre—and glass wine globes, while the rest of the domaine’s wines are matured entirely in glass, the 2022 Meursault Village unfurls in the glass with aromas of jasmine, nashi pear and lime peel, with a faint touch of passion fruit. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, racy and precise, with an expressive core of fruit, bright acids and a long, persistent finish. As readers will know, it derives from two lieux-dits: En l'Ormeau on the plain—a vineyard situated next to the restaurant Au Fil du Clos—and Les Casse-Têtes on the hillside, where the soils contain less clay.
