Nose and Finish were wonderful, great classic GlenDronach and old style sherry. But tad too weak on the palate, probably down to the bottling strength and the decades in glass. Nose Coal smoke aromas and dusty dunnage warehouses. Sherry cask elements developing; dried plums and prunes, some cinnamon spice, definitely turning more towards those old Christmas cake aromas with time. After a good breathe it starts to get a little creamier on the nose with a kind of vanilla note developing which is followed by a lovely varnished cabinet holding old ledger. Taste Quite watery, lacking body and a little bite. Again on the coal smoke and burnt wood notes. Spice starting to appear, small cinnamon tingle on the tongue. Turning more berries the longer you hold on the tongue, getting rather cranberry and bramble. But with this comes the bitterness of the oak. Finish Turning to the dry side, a lot of old oak and leather coming through here. Again there's a smoke and dust note in there. Very long with the bitter oak notes grabbing the tongue.
