This is more aromatically backward and less expressive with a linear but very fresh and bright quality to the earthy red fruit aromas that lead to nicely powerful yet elegant flavors and fine length. This is a lovely effort but it lacks the sheer depth and punch of the prior grands crus even if it is their match in complexity. If this fills out with bottle age, my score may be conservative.
