Absolutely gorgeous nose of berries, leather, minerals and tar. But like many a 94 bordeaux, the nose promises more than what the wine eventually delivers on the palate. That is not to say this Lafleur is a lightweight -- far from it -- it has a delightful medium body with solid layers of fruit, and is a pleasure to drink. It also clearly has sufficient weight and tannin to motor on for a few more years. However, the fruit seems to be peaking, so I'm not keeping my remaining 2 bottles for another decade in the hope of any magic occurring. 93 pts (average of 96 for nose, 90 for everything else that followed...)
