The new wood that this amply displayed in its youth has now been completely eaten though the youthful spice notes have also disappeared. This is in an early-middle stage of life and while still pretty, is somewhat reserved and somber aromatically, followed by focused, intense, somewhat high-toned flavors that sport only average mid-palate density but excellent finishing detail. This will require additional time to be at it's best because even though it is not an classically austere Clos de Vougeot, neither does it yet have the amplitude necessary to be really satisfying.
