This was a stunning bottle of Bordeaux. Yes, it's an off vintage, and it actually comes across more like a brilliant Chinon than Bordeaux, in that there is just a massive wave of green pepper, leather, and tobacco. At the same time, this is incredibly fresh, and there are still wisps of sweet fruit on the palate. It's not light or dilute at all, but the only sign that this wasn't from a great vintage seems to be that the finish was a little shorter than I would expect from a wine with such an incredibly rich palate.
