The wine is pale ruby in colour, and with a nose that is more alluring than assertive, slowly drawing you in with gentle aromas of candied red fruit and hints of spearmint. On the palate, it has a cherry meringue core held together by tannins that are fine-grained and elegant, with a medium to long finish. This is quintessential Burgundian (rather surprising for a Corton) and is testament to Drouhin’s ability as a négociant to blend and create a charming wine from the different plots.
