The 1983 is one of those overlooked vintages that is drinking spectacularly right now. Classic Bordeaux nose, taste and finish. Decanted for 2 hours, but it the aroma from the decanter told me immediately that this wine was good to go—balanced and structured from the first pour, and it only got better from there. Great notes of slate, leather, cassis with black and red fruits, and classic Pauillac teroir. Just a really elegant wine drinking beautifully right now.
