Pretty awesome nose with a strong mint/eucalyptus note along with sweet tobacco notes. Fleshy mature fruit with some tertiary notes—palate doesn’t have the intensity of the big vintages but is very enjoyable in early maturity. Comes across as rather classic profile with some coarse tannins although merlot on the palate gives it an initial lush pleasing texture. I doubt the new more polished vintages will evolve to something like this. Happy to drink this any time.
